Please help us with this great event this weekend.
LIJSL To Host BCRF Fundraiser at Soccer Park on Sunday [Aug 07, 2013] The Estee Lauder Company name has become synonymous with the fight against breast cancer. Entering their third decade at the forefront of the battle against this disease, the company organizes multiple fundraisers and awareness campaigns in order to spread the all-important message of early detection in an effort to save lives.
For the past eight years, the Long Island Junior Soccer League has joined in that fight, donating the Peter C. Collins Soccer Park for a soccer-based fundraiser here on Long Island. Teams of players from Estee plants and offices as far away as Pennsylvania have taken part in the event, as well as sides consisting of VP’s and executives, as well as assemblers and other plant workers. Last year, youth teams took part for the first time, playing in scrimmages throughout the day.
This year’s event will take place this Sunday, August 11th, at the Peter C. Collins Soccer Park. First kickoff is at 9 am.
Teams make a flat donation to participate in the event, which is part of several fundraisers here on Long Island during the summer, including a volleyball tournament and a golf outing. Monies raised at this year’s event will add to the nearly $10M the Estee Lauder Company has raised for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and fundraising efforts will continue right through October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
