US Youth Soccer ODP a Common Thread Among Players Selected for U-17 GNT Training Camp Roster
The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) continues to be a common thread for players called into national team camps. Of the 19 players named to a recent U.S. Under-17 Girls’ National Team training camp roster, 13 are members of US Youth Soccer ODP.
The training camp for the U.S. U-17 Girls’ National Team will take place Oct. 13 - Oct. 19 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. The team’s final roster will include 20 players and will compete in the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship to be held Oct. 30 – Nov. 9 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The U.S. U-17 GNT is led by head coach B.J. Snow. US Youth Soccer ODP Region IV player Mallory Pugh has been part of a dynamic duo of forwards who have combined to score 10 international goals this year in seven matches. The US Youth Soccer ODP heavy U-17 GNT has compiled a 4-1-2 record while scoring 21 goals and allowing just six.
The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program brings together the top players from various clubs and geographic locations, and puts them in an environment to train and compete at the highest level in front of collegiate, professional and national team scouts. US Youth Soccer ODP is the original Olympic development program and with programs in all 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations, is available to any player regardless of club or hometown. US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League, as well as the majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni.
